Aldi in Joplin Missouri Reopens Five Months After Tornado

It's been five months since tornadoes ripped through Joplin, Missouri, on May 22nd, 2011.

And just this past Saturday, five months to the day of that devastating tragedy, Aldi reopened its store located at E 20th Street and S Range Line Road.

Shoppers started arriving as early as 6 am, and dozens were on hand for the 9am ribbon cutting ceremony...

"You just cant believe the excitement with the employees and the customers that were back this quickly after the devastation on that day - you just cant describe the excitement," said store manager, Scott Lee. "You just can't rebuild quick enough because the community really needs us and the support we've had from the community has just been wonderful."
