Aldi Review: Casa Mamita Taco Seasoning and Shells - It's TACO NIGHT!

Nothing makes us happier around here than taco night! And since it had been a month or so since our last one, we were a bit overdue. We solved that little problem last night, and every ingredient we used (except for the fresh jalepeno) came from Aldi!

Taco night when I was growing up in my middle-class suburban household meant Old El Paso mix and shells, and ONLY Old El Paso! My mom wouldn't dare bring home a store brand - she'd never hear the end of it. We were, I admit it, Old El Paso Taco snobs.

Well, I'm glad I've repented my snobbish ways, because the Casa Mamita Taco Seasoning and Shells are just as good (and dare I say perhaps even better) than the stuff I remember from childhood. The fact that they cost about HALF the price of Old El Paso is the icing on the cake. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Casa Mamita products even if they were the same price as the national brand.


The shells were crispy-fresh, and even came out of the box intact - no broken shells!

This one's a no-brainer. Go ahead and give these a try, and save yourself some money. I think you'll be very satisfied!

    We tried these shells and they are WAY better than El Paso or other brands - we will only buy Casa Mamita shells from now on!

    Bought a box of Casa Mamita Taco Shells and when I opened them, 10 out of 12 shells were broken up. Very, very mad and disappointed!!!

      Bummer - I hate when that happens! But, that's one of the good things about ALDI, you can take the broken shells back to the store, and they'll refund your money PLUS give you a replacement box of taco shells.

    This taco seasoning taste like artificial lime maybe a little bit of chili powder and a truckload of salt it's horrible
